Home Page. The SGF is an
association, founded in 1999, of
around 100 Horticultural
Societies, Gardening Clubs and other horticulturally-related
organisations acting together for their mutual benefit.
At a time when there is
plenty of interest in gardening programmes on
the the TV and at the Garden Centres it is perceived that membership of
gardening clubs is not blossoming. What can we do to address this
situation? We aim to provide a service to local clubs to assist them in
offering a full and interesting, (possibly improved) programme to their
members. We encourage clubs to exchange ideas and information and to
promote excellence in all aspects of gardening and horticultural
specialisms as well as helping members to enjoy their hobby to the full.
As our services are to
Societies, we do not recruit individuals but
will respond to enquiries by trying to put any individual in touch with
a local gardening club/specialist society.
